Story by

With its ample outdoor lounge space, creative cocktail menu, intriguing people-watching possibilities, and sweeping views of Lady Bird Lake and the downtown skyline, Paggi House is the place for a swanky happy hour. But happy hour is only
the beginning. Along with the new look that came with the renovation also came a new menu, full of eclectic fine-dining options. We started with the wild Gulf shrimp wrapped in prosciutto and served with a potato croquette. It was light and flavorful, just the right way to get any meal under way. Potato-encrusted wild salmon with spinach and oyster mushrooms was beautifully presented, and the filet mignon was cooked to perfection. We took the advice of our knowledgeable server and chose the German chocolate tartlet for dessert, paired with smoked caramel ice cream—it was a chocolate lover’s dream. We could have lingered at our table in the cozy dining room all night long. The restaurant’s Monday night wine dinners are a great introduction to Paggi House, as you can choose (from a few options) a starter, a main course, and a dessert for $50 per person.
